Acer Aspire V5-552P Gaming Laptop Review
The Acer Aspire V5-552P gaming laptop provides very useful features especially at this pricepoint (laptops under $700).
We’re a big fan of the 15-inch screen, which is touch-screen enabled and also includes a high definition or HD webcam.
In the inside, this laptop contains an AMD A10-5757 2.5 Ghz processor, and at first glance, you might think it can’t handle gaming. Fortunately though, the processor is overclockable to 3.5, providing that bit of extra power needed for some of today’s more intense gaming action.
When it comes to RAM, it doesn’t lack there either. Its 8 gigabytes of RAM is great for gaming and may also be upgraded to 16GB when you’re ready for faster game play.
With 1TB of Hard Drive Disk space, there’s also plenty of room to store games, movies, music and whatever else you may want to download.
Now the most interesting part…well, that’s the 8650G AMD Radeon graphics card. It offers 512MB of graphics system memory, which could be more; however, for the price you can’t beat its performance.
Using plenty of RAM will allow you to play a large variety of games such as Titanfall in Medium settings at 32 fps (with overclocking possible to get higher framerates). It will also handle most MOBA’s such as League of Legends and Dota 2 fairly well and even Counter-Strike: GO, which is very nice to play on a laptop you can take anywhere with you.
It will definitely play older games such as those released from 2012-2013 well enough.
Other bonuses include an aluminum part around the backlit keyboard making it very comfortable to use. This gaming laptop model is somewhat thin and light, which is great if you are hauling it around in backpack or laptop bag.
Additionally, the touchscreen works well since it uses Windows 8.1. The use of several AMD technologies helps this laptop model’s overall performance. You’ll learn more in this hands-on review. The video showcases the laptop perfectly.
